How We Use Browser Storage
1. Introduction
To make Visual Labs load faster and persist your chosen settings (like keeping your math/physics parameters intact when navigating between panels), we utilize standard HTML5 local storage technologies and a minimal cookie on your device.
2. What We Store
We only store strictly necessary configuration values directly on your local device:
- Local Preferences (localStorage): Holds state options such as the last selected view mode (e.g., number-line vs counters in negatives), simulation velocities, or visual settings.
- Consent State (Cookie): A tiny cookie is stored to remember if you have dismissed or accepted the Cookie Consent banner, so it does not reappear on every page load.
3. No Behavioral Tracking Cookies
We do not use advertising tracking cookies, third-party remarketing pixels, or any profiling cookies that identify you or monitor your web activity outside of Visual Labs.
4. Managing Your Storage
You have full control over the data stored on your device. You can clear your browser cookies and Web Storage (localStorage) at any time through your browser settings. Doing so will simply reset Visual Labs configurations to their original factory defaults.
